Dr.A.P.J Abdul Kalam’s Memorial Day 2017

Rally

Students and Faculties of Computer Science and Engineering organized an rally on the theme "Omission of plastics" on Dr. A.P.J Abdul Kalam's Memorial day which is on July 27th. The rally was initiated by Mr. G. Muthu Subramanian, The Inspector of Police, Cheranmahadevi, Dr. C.K.Ravi Sankar, Principal, SCAD College of Engineering and Technology and Dr. K.Jeyakumar, Principal, SCAD Engineering College. The rally started from the Cheranmahadevi police station and proceeded through Cheranmahadevi, Kuniyoor and ended in the college. The students had various placards with slogans regarding the omission of plastics. The students proclaimed the slogans like Abolish plastics, Destroy plastics and Improve agriculture on the course of the rally to bring awareness to the society regarding plastic usage.

Dr. A.P.J Abdul kalam always urged for a clean society. It was an apt idea to give an awareness to the society regarding plastic omission on his memorial day. The rally proceeded smoothly through the town and ended in SCAD College of Engineering and Technology.

GREEEN INDIA MISSION

Department of ECE of SCAD College of Engineering and Technology organized sapling plantation on the eve of “Dr.A.P.J.Abdul Kalam Memorial Day” on 27/07/2017 (Thursday). Students and Staff members of ECE Department joined their hands along with head of the institution Dr.C.K.Ravisankar, Principal of SCADCET and Dr.K.Jeyakumar Principal of SCADEC. This program was organized to promote “GREEEN INDIA MISSION”.

 

 

CLEAN SCAD

The event was conducted at 10 30 A.M. on 27/07/2016. Honorable Principals of Engineering Colleges, Dr. C.K. Ravisankar and Dr. K. Jeyakumar presided over the event. Interested 46 students along with 5 department faculty members participated in the event and cleaned the campus with the support of Campus manager and non-teaching faculty. This type of event insists the students to keep their premises clean and tidy. Also it creates a social awareness of removing plastics and unwanted cactus shrubs in order to keep the environment clean. This initiative will be continued in the forth coming days too.

ELOCUTION AND POETRY CONTEST

In view of Dr. A. P. J. Abdul kalam’s Memorial Day, MBA Department of SCAD College of Engineering and Technology has organized “Elocution & Poetry Contest” on the topic “Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam” at the MBA block of SCAD Campus on 27/07/17. In this intra-college contest, many students from various streams of Engineering has participated and enriched the event. Dr. C. K. Ravisankar, the Principal of SCAD College of Engineering and Technology initiated the session and motivated the students by the thoughts and vision of Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam. Nearly 40 students from various departments participated in both the contest and spoke about the achievements and glory of Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam through poems and their scintillating speech. Mr. S. Syed zia-ur rahman, the head of the Department of Management Studies concluded the contest by appreciating the students for their participation and the winners were awarded.

ESSAY WRITING COMPETITION

The Programme has started with the prayer and the Dr. C. K. Ravisankar delivered the welcome address.  The Dr. K. Jeyakumar delivered a short note about the “Missile Man of India”. The General Manager (A) Mr. R. Thambidurai presided over the function.
Nearly 34 students from the first year have actively participated in the Essay writing competition. Four students were presented the competition in English and rest of them writes in their mother language. Mr. R. Varadhaseshan designed the cover page for the essay writing and invigilate the competition. The organizing committee scrutinized and announced the first three places. They were

The winner and participation certificates were distributed by our beloved Principal Dr. C. K. Ravi Sankar on 28.07.2017 in our college common student’s prayer.
