Anna University Zone-18 Inter-College Men’s Kho-Kho Tournament
On November 4, 2024, SCAD College of Engineering and Technology hosted the Anna University Zone-18 Inter-College Men’s Kho-Kho Tournament, featuring spirited participation from six teams representing colleges across the Tirunelveli Zone. The tournament began with a grand inaugural ceremony attended by notable dignitaries, including Dr. A. Justin Diraviam, Principal of SCAD-CET; Dr. S. Sundararajan, Director of IQAC, SCAD-CET; and Dr. Reglin Keruba, Director of Physical Education at Anna University Regional Campus and Zonal Sports Secretary for Zone-18. They encouraged the athletes, emphasizing the role of sports in fostering teamwork, discipline, and fitness. The tournament adopted a round-robin format leading to knockout rounds, where all teams competed in a fair and sportsmanlike manner under the supervision of referees. After intense matches, MEPCO Schlenk Engineering College clinched the first place, with Government Engineering College, Tirunelveli as runners-up, and SCAD College of Engineering and Technology securing third place. The champion trophy and medals were awarded by Dr. John Kennedy, Admission Director at SCAD-CET; Dr. A. Justin Diraviam, Principal of SCAD-CET; Dr. C. Arulraj, Director of Physical Education at Government Engineering College, Tirunelveli; and Mr. Ligaraj, Director of Physical Education at MEPCO Schlenk Engineering College. Coordinated by Mr. G. Arumuga Nainar, Mr. M. Oscar, and Ms. C. Alice Ponrani from SCAD-CET’s Physical Education Department, the event successfully concluded with a congratulatory speech that celebrated the sportsmanship and efforts of all participants. This tournament not only fostered physical activity and team spirit but also provided a meaningful platform for students to connect with peers from different colleges.
