Committee For Scheduled Castes (SC) and Scheduled Tribes (ST)

Scheduled Castes (SC) and Scheduled Tribes (ST) have been identified as the two most backward groups of Indian Society. They include all the castes, races or tribes, which have been socially, economically and educationally backward. The cell has been established to support and to bring students from such communities to build their academic, self and social wealth. The SC/ST cell of the college was established in 2019 with the purpose to empower the SC/ST students in the college.

Objectives:-

• To ensure necessities of an environment where all such students feel safe and secure inside the campus.
• To communicate with the students and motivate them for better future planning.
• To encourage the students for their curricular, co-curricular and extra-curricular activities and make relief them from inferiority complex.
• To circulate the various scholarships provided by State Government, Central Government, UGC and various Government and Non-Government bodies.
• To conduct / co-ordinate training programmes for students in life skills and personality development to help in their placement.
• To aware about various State government and Central Government job opportunities, reservation facility available in these jobs and exam preparation methods.
• To review follow up measures taken to achieve the objectives and targets laid down by the Govt. of India and the UGC.

Minutes of Meetings:

First Semester (18.06.2019) :

• The SC/ST cell was formed with five members.
• The Principal put forth the aims and objectives of this committee.
• It was decided to give information about competitive examination and related facilities to the students of SC and ST categories.
• It was also suggested to give guideline of the scholarship and various programmes conducted by college.

Second Semester (11.12.2019)  

• The review of last term meetings was conducted.
• Follow up of scholarships was discussed.
• The awareness about government opportunities created to SC/ST students was reviewed.
• The planning for next academic year was made.

First Semester (08.06.2020) :

• The Principal put forth the aims and objectives and action taken for the students from SC and ST category.
• It was also suggested to give guideline of the scholarship and various programmes conducted by college
• Information was taken about seats available and actual admission of SC and ST students.
• In meeting, the various academic programs were planned for SC/ST students.

Second Semester (21.12.2020)  

• The review of last term meetings was taken.
• Follow up of scholarships forms were taken by the committee members.
• Informations of new admission students were collected about SC and ST students.
• Programs of next year were planned for SC/ST Students.

First Semester (14.06.2021)  

• The Principal discussed about the current academic year activities for SC/ST Students.
• It was decided to organize skill training, Applied labs to enrich their Technical Knowledge.
• It was also suggested to give guideline of the scholarship and various programmes conducted by college.
• The various supports of SC/ST students in Co-Curricular and Sports activities were discussed in the meeting.
• It was decided to aware about NPTEL , Government projects and funds, Various Schemes to SC/ST Students.

Second Semester (20.12.2021)  

• The review of last term meetings was taken.
• Follow up of scholarships was taken.
• The feedback about all activities from SC/ST students had been reviewed.
• The planning for next academic year was made.
