DEPARTMENT OF MECHANICAL ENGINEERING

ADDITIVE LAB

VISION

  • Structure the future of the engineering graduates by developing aggressive industrial knowledge and make them individualistic to handle the future challenges.

MISSION

  • To develop the student as an expert for getting a better position in the CAD industry.
  • To reinforce the knowledge of students in the field of design and analysis of products and processes.
  • To mould the students as CAD expertise is one of the most promising growth areas for meaningful employment well into the twenty-first century.
  • To apply solid modeling software to create 3D objects, multipart assemblies, and presentation drawings from sketches, dimensions, and constraints.
  • To integrate solid modeling software with Rapid prototyping software to create files for manufacturing parts.
  • To engage the students for active involvement in research work and to solve industry defined problems.
  • To promote the students in converting the research work / industrial defined problems into publications and patents.
  • Students graduating with this domain knowledge, they may find employment in Multinational Companies (MNC’S) or can start their own startup industry.

OBJECTIVE

  • To give the design and analysis knowledge in the development of engineering products and processes.
  • To lead the students for active participation in national/international conferences, project competitions, publications in journals and patent filing.
  • To strengthen the technical knowledge in solving industry/social relevant problems.

WHAT WE DO

  • To improve their knowledge in the field of CAD software and Prototype machines for participating in National / International Design competition as well as for preparing industry expectation drawings / CAD models.
  • To carry the students to develop their own products using CAD Software / Prototyping Machines and pioneering the students to file a patent for their own ideas.

We are deeply occupied with a pleasant platform for industries to provide technical support as a consultancy work for their requirements

The products manufactured by Additive Lab

PHOTO LITHOPHANES

Lithophanes are essentially embossed photos generated by a 3D printer. The print results don’t show much at first, but shine some light through one and you’ll be amazed by the details. The way it works is that light passes through the thin parts. In this way, the differences in light bring out the details of the image

HUMAN HEART

Three-dimensional (3D) printing is an additive manufacturing (AM) technique with increasing use in health care. A 3D-printable model of a human heart was generated from a contrast-enhanced CT scan. An endpoint of many patients with coronary heart disease (CHD) is heart failure requiring a ventricular assist device (VAD) or heart transplant. 3D printing can aid in ventricular assist device placement and optimizing function in complex CHD, as recently described by Farooqi et al. and Saeed et al

ANT ROBOTS

Ant robotics is a special case of swarm robotics. Swarm robots are simple (and hopefully, therefore cheap) robots with limited sensing and computational capabilities Swarm robots cannot use conventional planning methods due to their limited sensing and computational capabilities. Thus, their behavior is often driven by local interactions. Ant robots are swarm robots that can communicate via markings, similar to ants that lay and follow pheromone trails.

SMART GLASS

A smart glass or switchable glass (also called smart window or switchable window in those applications) is a glass or glazing whose light transmission properties are altered when voltage, light, or heat is applied. In general, the glass changes from transparent to translucent and vice versa, changing from letting light pass through to blocking some (or all) wavelengths of light and vice versa. Smart glass can be constructed by lamination with a smart film or switchable film, often using either glass, acrylic or polycarbonate laminates

NUT AND BOLT

A nut is a type of fasteners that are always used with bolts. The bolt is a solid cylindrical fastener that is used with a nut. The nuts are hollow circular cylinders with a circular cross-section. The bolts are solid cylinders with a circular cross-section.

STEPPER MOTOR CASE

The stepper motor is used for precise positioning with a motor, such as hard disk drives, robotics, antennas, telescopes, and some toys. Stepper motors cannot run at high speeds, but have a high holding torque.

PILLAYAR SCULPTURE

Ganesha (Sanskrit: गणेश, IAST: Gaṇeśa), also known as Ganapati and Vinayaka, is one of the best-known and most worshipped deities in the Hindu pantheon. His image is found throughout India, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Indonesia (Java and Bali), Singapore, Malaysia, Philippines, and Bangladesh and in countries with large ethnic Indian populations including Fiji, Guyana, Mauritius, and Trinidad and Tobago. Hindu denominations worship him regardless of affiliations. Devotion to Ganesha is widely diffused and extends to Jains and Buddhists.

ANGEL SCULPTURE

An angel is a supernatural spiritual being who, according to various religions, is God’s servant. Abrahamic religions often depict angels as benevolent celestial intermediaries between God (or Heaven) and humanity. Other roles include protectors and guides for humans, and servants of God.

HIDDEN CAMERA CASE

A hidden camera or spy camera is a still or video camera used to record people without their knowledge. The term “hidden camera” is commonly used in TV shows, sometimes when subjects are unaware that they are being recorded, and usually lacking their knowledge and consent. The term “spy camera” is generally used when the subject would object to being recorded if they were aware of the camera’s existence. In contrast, “security cameras” refer to cameras that are visible and/or accompanied by a warning notice of their presence.

VENKATESHWARA SCULPTURE

Venkateshwara, also known by various other names,[1] is a form of the Hindu god Vishnu. Venkateswara is the presiding deity of Tirumala Venkateswara Temple located in Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh, India.

MASK STRAP

A surgical mask, also known by other names such as a medical face mask or procedure mask, serves as a mechanical barrier that interferes with direct airflow in and out of respiratory orifices (i.e. nose and mouth). This prevents a surgeon or anyone else coughing, unintentionally spitting, etcgerms and other contaminants onto a patient. Although the material surgical masks are made of will filter some viruses and bacteria our of the air breathed in or out, surgical masks only provide partial protection from diseases transmitted via airborne transmission because of the typically loose fit between the mask edges and the wearer’s face.

LAPTOP STAND

A laptop stand is something a laptop can be set on that is raised up off a table or another surface. Having a laptop on a laptop stand can make it easier to work on and use because the screen is closer to eye level. When a laptop is not on a raised or flat surface airflow
