FOUNDATION SKILL
MODEL MAKING USING BRICK MASONRY
Objective
In order to provide real insight process about construction methodology using bricks as a building block, a foundation skill was conducted for first year students.
This skill was aimed to groom engineering students with essential knowledge regarding masonry works which are carried out in construction works to gain exposure in real-time work, and to encourage leadership and teamwork skills.
MODEL MAKING USING BRICK MASONRY
The students were explained about the following such as:
- Sequential activities during construction
- Various bonds in brick masonry works
- Various construction materials
- Various construction equipments
Based on the above explanation, students were given training on ‘Constructing a Sitting Bench’ using various bonds in brick masonry viz., English Bond, Flemish Bond etc. Necessary construction materials, equipments were provided with the students for constructing a Sitting Bench in front of Civil & Mechanical Engineering Block and it was carried out with proper guidance from faculty members.
FOUNDATION SKILL
PATTA, CHITTA , VAASTHU & CAD MODELING
The Department of Civil Engineering organized foundation skill for first year students on the topic “Patta , Chitta ,Vaasthu and CAD Modeling” . The students have got knowledge about Patta , How to apply for patta , Details about Chitta , Implementation of Vaasthu and CAD Plan for House.The outcome of the training the students are able to Prepare a Vaasthu plan for their own House.
The Department of Civil Engineering organized foundation skill for first year students entitled “Plumbing works” .In this training hands on training sessions have conducted. So, the students have got deep knowledge about plumbing work and the various fittings and joints of the plumbing.The outcome of the training the students are able to do the plumbing work at their own house and they gain the knowledge about plumbing for those who are attended.
