I’m feeling elated in extending a warm welcome to all the youthful and vibrant aspirants to the SCAD family. It is my pleasure that introduces the “ABC model” for core placement which will shorten the gap in industrial expectation and be the first to respond to the needs of the industry and the grandaunts. The students are grouped according to their choice of job preferences and made aware of potential companies, job profiles, expertise and skill requirements, knowledge, and tools related to their preferred job. Secondly, build necessary expertise in skill, knowledge, and tools through technical skill training, projects, lab sessions, value-added courses, internships pertaining to the choice of job. Finally, help the students to conquer the job with sustained effort by using this channelized and customized approach. We are determined to prepare the manpower that is the best suited for readily absorbed in the industry. Most of the students, who graduate from the department, end up taking leading positions in the industry. Department is organized in terms of three streams for academic and placement purpose which are Mechanical Design, Manufacturing, and Thermal system. I’m very sure with a collaborative effort, the department can achieve more benefits for our students.

Brief:
Dr.C.Antony Vasantha Kumar has been teaching in SCAD CET since 2005 securing 15 years of teaching and research experience. Presently he is holding the position of head of department in department of Mechanical Engineering. He has published 3 SCI journals with good citations. He has also presented technical articles in many national and international conferences. He is also an active member in many professional bodies and a reviewer of many international journals. He is one of the key members of academic committee in the institution. He has guided many best projects in the field of composites and system design. One batch of students under his guidance has received grant from TNSCST.
